DERMAL FILLERS-2

DERMAL FILLERS

Dermal Fillers are widely used to restore lost volume, smooth lines, and soften facial creases. They are also used to enhance facial contours. The common fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid. HA is an ingredient that naturally occurs in the body, but it loses its effectiveness over time. This loss can happen as we age and from certain medical conditions. Fillers help bring back some of your skin’s youthfulness.

FAQs

Dermal fillers are injectable gel-like substances that help to create more fullness and volume, eliminate wrinkles, and give a natural appearance.

After your dermal filler treatment, you should see immediate results. You may have some swelling for about 3-7 days.

Depending on the amount, strength and type of filler, and how your body reacts to it, your filler results will vary. Some dermal fillers may last for six to twelve months, while others may last up to five years.

The recovery time after a dermal filler treatment will vary from patient to patient. Recovery may last one to two days.

After Care
On the day of treatment, apply a cool compress every hour (don’t put ice directly on your skin). If you apply a cool compress regularly for the first 24 hours after injections, you may be able to reduce swelling. Arnica can also be applied before and after the injections to reduce swelling.

*Many patients with a previous history of cold sores may experience an outbreak of cold sores during treatment.

Some patients take preventative Lysine or antiviral medications to reduce their risk of developing cold sores. After a treatment, see your doctor if you develop cold sores.
